MIRE project
In 2026, the Biennale highlights the MIRE project around the Chêne-Bourg station, an area undergoing major urban transformation along the Léman Express.
Led by the Fonds cantonal d’art contemporain FCAC, in collaboration with the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève and the Fonds municipal d’art contemporain FMAC, the MIRE project integrates video artworks into train stations, accompanying daily mobility while offering direct access to contemporary art.
Echoing the movements of commuters, these moving images are embedded in public space as a long-term platform supporting artistic creation and showcasing Geneva’s audiovisual heritage. The program features works by Yuri Ancarani, Khalil Berro, Tanja Engelberts, Christian Jankowski and Gabriel Massan, reflecting a wide range of practices and perspectives on contemporary realities.
