Performance — "Dédomestication"
So, 7. Jun 2026, 14 – 18:30 Uhr
Esplanade Alice-Bailly 1, 1207 Genève
A performance blending drag, activism, and ecology to examine the links between colonialism, domestication, and the destruction of ecosystems. There will be two performances.
In response to the current environmental dystopia—marked by forest fires, the overexploitation of animals, droughts, and floods—Soya the Cow and Uhura question the colonial and extractivist logics that shape relationships between humans, animals, and territories.
In Undomestication, the artists propose an alternative vision in which a queer nature, guided by metamorphosis and hope, opens up spaces of imagination and resistance to dominant narratives. Through a performance combining images, bodies, and stage devices, the piece invites reflection on processes of domestication, colonisation, and ecocide.
The result of a collaboration between Daniel Hellmann and Rafa Bqueer, this creation is rooted in a practice that blends art, activism, and drag culture, addressing ecological and social issues from an intersectional perspective.
