A stroll with Soya the Cow: Try Walking in my Hooves
Sat, Nov 29, 2025, 2 – 4:30 PM
Animal rights, climate activism, music and queer feminism, all spiced up with a healthy dose of drag: that's Soya the Cow. The alter ego of performer, musician and activist Daniel Hellmann, this singing cow blurs the boundaries between masculine and feminine, human and animal.
She oscillates between a serious desire to change the world and a light-hearted sense of humour. After appearances at animal rights demonstrations, festivals and even The Voice of Germany, Soya the Cow offers the public a different way of looking at the city.
With Try Walking in my Hooves, she invites us on a philosophical journey, attentive to non-human bodies: dogs on walks, pigeons occupying monuments, animal remains carried as food or clothing. This walk calls for a change of perspective that challenges our viewing habits and our relationship with living beings.
For the (re)connecting.earth Biennale, Soya the Cow will lead a stroll from the Salle du Faubourg to the Villa du Parc (on foot and by tram), punctuated by musical interludes (at La Comédie). The performance will be followed by a lecture, extending the reflection on our relationship with animals and their status as resources.
At the end of this performance, there will be a lecture with Soya at the Villa du Parc.
A performance in partnership with Climate Week and La Villa du Parc (contemporary art center).
This event is free, but places are limited. If you have reserved a ticket and are unable to attend, please notify art-werk (contact@art-werk.ch).
