Workshop: The planning table
Sun, Nov 30, 2025, 2 – 6 PM
A collective workshop-game where each participant imagines a character inspired by their life in order to rethink, together and in a playful way, the distribution of resources and our economic systems. Hosted by Lore D Selys, Carina Erdmann and Steph Holl-Trieu.
La Table des Possibles is a workshop based around games that invites participants to rethink our economic systems based on their everyday concerns. At the heart of the workshop, role-playing becomes a method of collective research. In a playful way, this workshop aims to identify how resources are distributed and used. Everyone can propose new rules to imagine other forms of political and structural organisation.
Participants play the roles of council members. To do this, they must create a character based on their own living and working conditions, using a questionnaire inspired by the ‘workers' survey’. These (semi-)fictional characters take shape through exercises that enable co-creation and collective storytelling. This process, called ‘game hacking’, uses play as a tool to explore the link between lived experiences and structural transformations.
The workshop will result in the creation of imaginary systems and narrative scenarios, which will serve as the basis for a series of participatory games, notably during the second phase of the (re)connecting.earth Biennale in spring 2026.
